October is National Minority Heritage Month! This month-long observation honors the culture, heritage, and contributions of minorities in America each year. As a minority-owned business ourselves, we would like to take this opportunity to tell our story and show our pride in our work, heritage and continuous efforts towards success and equality.
The ProfTech Story
Let’s go back to the 80’s, a time of big business—and bigger hair—when the nation was keen on shows of grandeur. In a time of big, ProfTech began in the simplest way possible: an observation. A clever college student at the time, Jose R. Montiel recognized that fads and the economy rise and fall…but office supplies and workplace solutions will always be needed.
This eureka moment was the spark that would eventually become ProfTech: a nationwide, single-source workplace solutions supplier.
But the road wasn’t always easy. It took determination and smarts for Jose to take his minority-owned business from a 3-person operation to the 40-year success it is today.
