The Top 3 Things To Do For Visitor Control When Reopening Your Office

Visitors & Guests Control in Reopening Offices

Your employees wear masks and practice social distancing. Your janitorial team heavily sanitizes your workplace each day. Despite your best efforts, it’s difficult to prevent the spread of infection among your staff members. When guests and visitors come into the office, that’s a monkey wrench in your protective plan for reopening your workplace.

BUT it’s also a variable that you can manage with the right protocol.

Here are the top 3 things you should implement in your office for safe visitation:

1. Create a Visitor Policy

Just like how you’ve set rules for your staff and employees, you can make a policy for guests and visitors as well. Keep it simple, easy to read, and post it in strategic places in your office.

For example, the following policy placed at the entrance doors to your office will be likely be effective:

2. Offer Sanitary Solutions

Many businesses are setting up “Sanitation Stations” for their employees. These stations have a supply of hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, and other PPE products. You can invite guests to use these stations or have one set up specifically for them. This way, when they enter the space they can immediately disinfect their hands and decrease the chance of infection.

3. Identify & Prepare Visitor Heavy Areas

There are two (2) places in the office that are likely to have the most visitor traffic:

You can prepare these places for visitors by doing the following:

  • 1. Post policy reminders at their entrances
  • 2. Arrange seating 6ft apart
  • 3. Ensure that the room is well ventilated
  • 4. Offer hand sanitizer or disinfecting wipes at the entrances
  • 5. Post custom social distancing reminder signs & floor markers
  • 6. Place signs in restrooms to remind guests to adequately wash their hands with disinfecting soap and water.
